About Genevieve Gergis

Pastry Chef Genevieve Gergis is half of the culinary super team behind the wildly successful Los Angeles restaurant Bestia. Working alongside her husband and establishment co-owner Chef Ori Menashe, Gergis has created an innovative and housemade dessert menu at Bestia. Thanks to this "from scratch" approach, Bestia has become one of the city's most highly regarded restaurants, named in 2014 as LA’s #1 Newcomer by Zagat.

Chef Gergis is self-taught. Her pastry career began after famed Chef Nancy Silverton of Osteria Mozza tasted her desserts and encouraged her to become a pastry chef. As a result, Gergis went to work at Chef Alice Waters's renowned restaurant Chez Panisse in Berkeley, CA, where she honed her pastry skills.
