About Hourie Sahakian

Hourie Sahakian is truly a baking phenom. In 2011 at the age of 23, her very first food industry job was nothing less than helming the pastry ovens of the critically acclaimed Short Cake bakery at the historic Farmers Market in Los Angeles. To do this, she had to impress co-founders and baking doyennes Nancy Silverton and the late Amy Pressman who once called Sahakian her “food soul mate.” The former high school class president was charged with menu development, and running front and back-of-house operations. Sahakian quickly made a name for herself, becoming an Eater Young Gun in 2013 and one of ZAGAT’s “30 Under 30.” She recently moved on to join La Brea Bakery owner Aryzta as Culinary Innovations Manager.
