About Ori Menashe

Chef Ori Menashe's restaurant Bestia is one of the top restaurants in Los Angeles. Perhaps what sets Bestia apart is its "from scratch" approach that permeates everything, from housemade charcuterie to handmade pasta to the freshly made pastries made by Bestia's co-owner and Pastry Chef (also Menashe's wife), Genevieve Gergis. Bestia has truly become one of the city's most highly regarded restaurants, named in 2014 as LA’s #1 Newcomer by Zagat.

Menashe was born in Los Angeles then moved to Israel when he was seven. His love affair with food was encouraged by his family who would dine together at Michelin-starred restaurants in France. After serving in the Israeli army, Menashe returned to LA where he worked in top restaurants including Angelini Osteria where he trained under legendary chef Gino Angelini.
