Jake Dell is the third generation of his family to run the
quintessential New York institution Katz’s Deli. He officially joined
the business in 2009, taking over for his father Alan and grandfather
Martin. Though Dell literally grew up at Katz's, he was studying to
become a doctor when he took a year off and fell in love with the
business. In 2013, Dell published the photographic book Katz’s:
Autobiography of a Delicatessen to commemorate the deli’s 125th
anniversary.
