About Jonathan Sutton

Chef Jonathan Sutton is co-founder of The Hillside Supper Club in San Francisco. He and culinary partner Tony Ferrari bring to this communal dining experience a wealth of knowledge about and enthusiasm for sustainable food, seasonal ingredients, and market-driven menus.

Jonathan hails from the San Juan Islands in Washington State. Even before graduating from Johnson and Wales in Florida, he helped open La Goulue, a classic French restaurant where he worked with his most influential mentor, Chef Jordan Lloyd. Jonathan also spent time in prestigious kitchens in Chicago, Portland, and the Washington D.C. area, eventually moving to San Francisco to help Chef Michael Mina relaunch his flagship restaurant. He brings to Hillside this wealth of experience and a passion for marrying old world traditions to modern-day sustainability practices.
