Kwame Onwuachi, a New York native, began his professional cooking career at 20, selling candy bars on the streets of the Bronx to fund the beginnings of his catering business. Once off the ground, the business was successful enough to pay for Kwame’s way through CIA. Upon graduating, Kwame earned his way into the kitchens of some of the most prestigious restaurants in the country like Eleven Madison Park, Per Se, and Craft. With fresh, fine-tuned skills and experience under his belt, Kwame is now embarking on another culinary adventure; he is competing in Dinner Lab’s Chef Tour, a cross-country contest for recognition in which one chef will earn himself his very own restaurant. Dinner Lab, a nationwide pop-up supper club gathers diners at luxurious locales to sample fare from up-and-coming, buzzworthy chefs. Chef Kwame is among the Chef Tour's top three finalists.
At just 24 years old, Kwame has already made a name for himself within the culinary community. His Nigerian lineage combined with his refined, fine dining skills makes for an eclectic and exciting dining experience. Keep Kwame on your “chefs to watch” list.
